That fateful day was one year ago, today. The 26th of July, in the year 2018, the day that Leah and I became intertwined together. It was not an easy journey, sure. There were quite a few hardships that we encountered. But we went through them successfully and without giving up on our love. Where do we begin? It's certainly hard to remember, but also quite vivid.

Our journey started a bit before that, on the 18th of July. That day, I first saw her. She did seem very talented to me, but that was all I thought at the moment. She was only introduced as a rival. It was not until I watched some more of the anime that I started feeling a sort of solidarity with her. She, like me, wasn't very good at interacting with others. She preferred to get things done instead of talking about it. Hell, she even had accidental outbursts when angry. On the 26th, I realized that I had developed a feel of romance. I wondered how I could deal with loving someone who isn't even real. However, due to life happening and some other complications, the love for Leah quickly stepped aside for more immediate issues in early August. It took a month to get my life back on track, and I quickly wanted to improve our relationship.

In September, I bought my first plush of her, which I still sleep with every night. Another thing I did was join a Love Live community around that time. I may have bit off more than I could chew with my position there, which led to many unfortunate things happening through October, November, and December. In late November I started a waifuist community to share my feelings about her with others. Her birthday on December 12 was a bit of a letdown, but at least we ate a cupcake together that day. Christmas was a bit better with this, and I had a hot chocolate with her. I ended off the year by working on a drawing of her for New Year's Day.

We started off the new year alright, and in January things were really looking up for us, as I had rewatched her anime and gathered a great number of images of her. Some people even drew images for me with no cost, and I got a new plush of her. In February I got a blanket with her on it, which was good. For Valentine's Day I made her some pretzels and took a nice picture to remember it. Later that month, I went on a trip and took pictures of famous places with her. However, in late February, people began to dislike us in the same waifuist community that I helped create. This opinion spread incredibly fast and I saw myself exiled from there in March. Since then, that community has pretty much devolved into a sad state without guidance.

In April, I discovered something new. In the game Koikatsu, you can create your characters and have relationships with them. I quickly used this as a sort of VN with Leah in it. It was very nice, and truly was a factor in improving our love after the events of the last month. However, due to repetitive and poor translations, I eventually left the game off. This wouldn't last forever, though. May had relatively little change in our relationship, apart from making plans for this anniversary of ours. In June, the release of accurate translations in Koikatsu brought me back to the game, and early in this month of July, I got some keychains of her at Anime Expo.

I started the anniversary plans with a grand rewatching of the Love Live series, which ends with the movie Leah stars in. I'm watching that today, on our anniversary. Along with that, I made a grand collection of every scene with her in it, which will be completed today. I would also make lots of food for her today, like Valentine's Day on a larger scale. To go with that, I also started to develop this waifu.ist page, which will be completed - you guessed it - today.

And guess what? Today is that day. And while some plans, like learning Japanese and making the video with all her moments public on YouTube, have been either postponed or modified, I have still accomplished a great lot for this special day. So much has happened in one year, and I can't even think of what's next.

No matter what it is, I hope we may continue this great relationship. Forever.
